PACKING
Are package in PLASTIMEGA's boxes with etiquette mark GAITAN containing nutritional information relative to the product. Every box includes 8 containers of transparent plastic of 1 lb. each one.
HANDLE
Preserve the strawberry in refrigeration to a temperature of 0 ° - 3° C Due to the sensibility of the strawberry for the excess of the dampness, it is recommended to have a strict control, especially in the relative dampness, since it can reverberate in a significant way in the wastages (to minor dampness, minor weigh), as desmerece in its aspect and presentation.
If the product is stored in short periods of time, it is advisable to support the dampness of the air of 90 - 95 %.
In the cold-storage room the estivas must take space as the wings in order that the cold air circulates easily, since otherwise the temperature of the strawberries increase for effect of the breathing and consequently accelerate the process of aging of the product.
It is an advisable estibar a maximum of 15 boxes, to avoid mistreatments for the excessive weight.
EXHIBITION

VARIETIES
Aromas
This is a new strawberry variety released in 1997 by the University of California breeding program. This day neutral variety produces large, firm fruit, with good flavor. The berry has good red color with a bright sheen. It begins to produce fruit slightly later than other day neutral varieties and continues producing late into the fall. Medium size (25 to 30 g) firm consistency, red obscure color, so much in its interior like exterior. Agreeable flavor.
Camarosa
This variety produces large, bright, firm and flavorful fruit with a good sheen. This berry holds well so it can be picked with full red color and still retain shelf life. Released in 1993, the variety recieved its first grower tests in 1994 and expanded in 1995. Big size (25 to 35 g) firm consistency, good flavor. Due to his its aspect and red color to red obscure, it calls the attention of the consumer.
Colima
Variety with good taste, tall and sweet.
Diamante
This new strawberry variety developed by the University of California. This day neutral variety was released to the industry in 1997. Diamante produces large, flavorful, firm fruit with a bright red sheen. It retains good shelf when picked with full red color. Size extra big (30 to 40 g) firm consistency, red light red color in its exterior and pale red in its interior. It has excellent flavor.
Seascape
A new variety from California released in 1992. Production capacity in eastern U.S. is still unknown. Very large, sweet, hardy, heavy producer.
Whitney
Variety smaller than other varieties, but a good taste.

HISTORY
The valley of Zamora Michoacán, it is an agricultural excellent region, taking advantage of this, in the year 1938, some persons dedicated to the trade, they knew the cultivation of the strawberry in the municipality of Tizapán, el Alto, Jalisco, of there they took some plants and sowed them in a small space of a garden of fruit-bearing trees to the north of Zamora, Michoacán. It gave to them good result and on the following year they sowed in another small surface located to the exit of Morelia, Michoacán. Across the years, the cultivation of the strawberry spread little by little over the whole Valley of Zamora and at present it is one of the zones with major production of strawberry in the country.
